INTO THE WOODLAND SCOPE (ITWSCOPE) is an Erasmus+ KA210 Small-scale Partnership project that addresses the educational, social and emotional challenges faced by primary and lower secondary school students in contemporary education systems.

The project is grounded in the Forest School approach, which uses natural environments as active learning spaces and promotes holistic, inclusive and student-centred education. By moving learning beyond the classroom, this approach supports children’s physical activity, emotional balance and social interaction.

Through transnational cooperation, ITWSCOPE brings together schools and an environmental education organisation from different European countries. Partners collaborate to design, test and share nature-based learning practices that support students’ social, emotional, physical and academic development.

Special attention is given to students with fewer opportunities, including those experiencing learning difficulties, social disadvantages or health-related barriers. The project aims to ensure equal access to meaningful learning experiences through inclusive outdoor education.

ITWSCOPE combines teacher training activities, student workshops and international learning mobilities to strengthen key competences such as cooperation, communication, problem-solving, environmental literacy and well-being.
The main outcome of the project is a freely accessible e-book that collects good practices, teaching modules and practical guidelines for integrating forest pedagogy into school education. This output aims to ensure long-term impact and sustainability beyond the project duration.
